Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Message from Toby…

I am so excited about worship this Sunday – 9/20! As we continue our series on God’s Gifts, we will have lots to celebrate! Ruth Chapman will share her story of using the gifts God has her for the benefit of others. Hugh Hansen will, once again, share his musical gifts by singing two duets with me that I think you’ll really like. My message will explore Paul’s notion of the Body of Christ and how God can use the littlest things to great and glorious ends. Best of all, as our moderator will be explaining more fully, we are prepared to have worship here rain or shine! Bring your own chair, which will be used even if we go indoors. If you’d prefer to use one of our comfortable chairs or couches, just bring your own sheet or blanket to spread over the top of it. Don’t forget that we are more than half-way through our annual pledge drive and are counting on you to bring your completed pledge card to put in the offering basket between now and October 4. Using your gifts of time, talent, and treasure for this church WILL make a difference! Thank you!

Leah and I have been working with the Deacons to update and improve the way we receive and publicize prayer requests. It’s a trickier business than it used to be due to privacy laws and other issues of sensitivity and such. Plus we have all seen how our list tends to grow to such proportion that it is overwhelming and virtually unreadable – much less “pray-able.” So we are just about ready to get information to you about our updated system, which will include a simple document on our website. Stay tuned, and please thank Leah and the Deacons for their important work.
